That central line session was fucking embarrassing. I couldn’t grip the probe correctly multiple times. I couldn’t withdraw the syringe effectively. I dropped items. Things got worse as they got bad.
It all started with the gloves. If my gloves were the right size, I wouldn’t have messed it up so badly (still would have). That 2 minutes of preparation beforehand would have saved me 30 minutes, grief, and shame.
Efficiency is all about the first step. The preparation is key. Invest that first few minutes. Mise en place.
