I am a surgery resident with a love for stories. And I have found many, many worthwhile ones during my time in medical school and now in training. These stories give meaning to what I do. And so I made this website to give them form in words and photos and drawings.
My hope is to write so I don’t forget who I am or what I love. And so that I remember to stay awake and pay attention. I also want to include failures, rough drafts, and half-baked ideas, because writing – like training to be a surgeon – is about the process. Sharing my successes and failures helps remind me that both are Ok and neither are the point.
Why is the site called The Rootlets?
